The Children’s Mercy Department of Orthopedic Surgery is one of the largest programs in the country in a free-standing pediatric hospital, embracing a multidisciplinary collaborative approach that puts children first.

The Children’s Mercy Kansas City Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine team treats various acute and chronic respiratory disorders and sleep disorders in children. Our team includes eight board-certified pediatric pulmonologists, clinic nurses, nurse practitioners, pediatric respiratory therapists, medical social workers, dietitians, clinical psychologists, polysomnography technologists, and more.

Ranked number #14 in the country by U.S. News and World Report, the Children’s Mercy Neonatology Division cares for more than 1,000 patients annually in its 83-bed NICU.

With one of the largest pediatric endocrinology divisions in the country, Children’s Mercy offers highly specialized care for pediatric diabetes and endocrine disorders.

As one of the country’s top pediatric kidney programs, the Pediatric Nephrology Division consistently sets the bar high regarding outcomes. Over the last eight years, the division has had 100% three-year graft and patient kidney transplant survival rates.

More than 50% of patients in the Gastroenterology Division at Children’s Mercy Kansas City are cared for within a multidisciplinary program or team.
