Employer Supported Training Programs
At Children’s Mercy we understand the value of recruiting and retaining top talent which is why we are committed to developing training programs that allow our current employees to learn new skills while also maintaining a full-time income. Here are some of the programs that we offer our employees who are in good standing and have been in their current position for at least 90 days.
Care Assistant and Emergency Nursing Services Technician Training Programs
Care Assistants and ENS Techs are a critical part of the nursing care team at Children’s Mercy. Many traditional training programs focus on adult patients. CM has developed a 6-8 week training program that is tailored to pediatrics where candidates apply and interview with our nursing departments. If selected, they will be paid a full-time salary (32 hours per week) while in training. Once the training is complete, candidates begin working on the unit they were interviewed and hired for. Although we do allow both internal and external candidates to apply, priority consideration is given to internal candidates.

CM will requires selected employees to maintain a part-time work schedule while in school and the hospital will supplement the remainder of the salary through a stipend for each semester they are in the program (not to exceed four semesters).
