The Children’s Mercy Underrepresented in Medicine Elective Program
Mercy + ME
The Children’s Mercy Underrepresented in Medicine Elective Program (Mercy + ME) provides qualified fourth-year medical students who have historically been underrepresented in medicine (UIM) an opportunity to experience the outstanding Pediatric training that Children’s Mercy provides.
Children's Mercy Hospital is the host site for the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine Pediatric Clerkship. Clerkship students also rotate through the NICU at University Health.
Currently enrolled medical students at accredited allopathic or osteopathic medical schools may request for an elective rotation or sub-internship at Children's Mercy.
University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) medical students who are interested in ongoing research participation must first obtain permission from the associate dean for curriculum at UMKC School of Medicine.
