How to Apply
Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine Fellowship
Applicants to the Children's Mercy Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine Fellowship Program must meet the following requirements:
-
Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or
-
Completion of an ACGME-accredited combined residency program in PM&R/Pediatrics or
-
Completion of separate ACGME-accredited residencies in Pediatrics and PM&R, and
-
American Board of PMR certification or eligibility
Our program participates in Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and the National Residency Matching Program. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and considered through the end of October. Three letters of recommendation are required and all candidates must have passed Step 3.
Interviews provide the opportunity for candidates to meet our current fellows and staff to get a better understanding of the culture of our program. In 2022, all interviews will be conducted virtually, with flexible days and times to accommodate applicants. Interviews will be held from August to November.
For international citizens, Children's Mercy primarily accepts applicants with J-1 Visa status. To be eligible for appointment, all international citizens must be sponsored by the ECFMG for the J-1 nonimmigrant Visa classification and have and maintain valid ECFMG certification throughout the length of their training Program. In some cases, Children's Mercy will sponsor an H-1B Visa. Residents/Fellows who wish to change their immigration classification while pursuing a graduate medical training Program at CMH must seek prior written approval from the GME Department. Failure to seek such approval will subject the trainee to immediate termination from his/her training Program.
