Patient and Family Activities
Activities for inpatient families
The Patient and Family Programs team offers a variety of programs and group activities to promote a positive environment for patients and families while staying at the hospital. Some activities are offered in-person, like bedside visits with celebrities. Other activities, such as bingo, are offered on the television in the patient’s room by turning to Channel 13. This is Children’s Mercy’s very own TV channel, “CMTV”.
Staff or volunteers will advertise what activities are happening each day and will bring directions and supplies to the patients as needed.
Family Time
Family Time gives parents a chance to take a break from the bedside, grab a quick snack and connect with other parents. Listen for an announcement saying when Family Time will be held on your floor or in the Kreamer Resource Center.
Kreamer Creations
Inpatient parents and caregivers are invited to participate in craft projects in the Kreamer Resource Center every Monday and Wednesday from 1-2 p.m. Parents can stay for the full hour and enjoy connecting with other parents or take items to go.
